MSI RECREATIONAL GOALKEEPER CLINICS

This is a SPRING ONLY program
Description of Program:

The MSI Recreational Goalkeeper Clinics are a series of 1 hour courses that teach aspiring goalkeepers the basics of goalkeeping. Each session of the Clinic includes a thorough warm-up including agility and flexibility training and an opportunity to practice fundamental skills of goalkeeping. These fundamental skills typically include: catching, diving, throwing, and punting. The clinics are offered to Recreational Program players in grades 3-12 and consist of four one-hour sessions.

Spring 2010 Rec Goalkeeping Schedule

1) Mondays- April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3 (Rain Date: May 10);

Times: 5:30-6:30 p.m. (Grades 3-4 only) *Closed*
6:45-7:45 p.m. (Grades 5-6 only)

OR

2) Wednesdays- April 14, April 21, April 28, and May 5 (Rain Date: May 12);
Times: 5:30-6:30 p.m. (Grades 3-4 only)
6:45-7:45 p.m. (Grades 5-12) *Closed*

Location of all sessions: Julius West MS (upper field)
Groups: Players are divided into small groups based on age and ability

Cost: $50

Note: As indicated above, there is only one rain date for the Clinic even if more than one session is cancelled for any reason. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

WINTER GOALKEEPING

Description of Program:
Each clinic will have a strong focus on the fundamental technical skills of goalkeeping, with the objective of quickly helping each young goalkeeper develop a higher level of confidence in their abilities. In addition, some tactical work will be included to provide logical connections between the technical and tactical elements of the game from a goalkeeper's perspective. Participants will be grouped by age and current ability levels, so as to provide each the opportunity to work on skills that are appropriate for their developmental stage.

WINTER MSI PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

MSI again offers training for Kindergarten through 3rd grade Recreational Program players who have a special interest and enthusiasm in the game. The Winter Player Development Program will once again highlight lead MSI staff instructors, working with what we hope will be a highly motivated group of players to provide a memorable experience of skills development and fun play.

MSI PLAYERS ACADEMY PROGRAM

MSI again offers Academy training for 2nd grade players who have a special interest and enthusiasm in the game. MSI Players Academy will once again highlight lead instructors from the MSC Premier program, working with what we hope will be a highly motivated group of players to provide a memorable experience of skills development and fun play.
