Who We Are
MSI is a community-led youth soccer nonprofit in Montgomery County, MD. Since 1971, MSI has offered soccer as a connector to life lessons, growth opportunities, and each other. Our mission is to positively impact the development of youth in our community by providing accessible soccer to players of all ages and abilities. We offer a level of play for everyone — from our signature
Recreation League
to
competitive travel
and
semi-pro teams. As a community-led nonprofit, we provide meaningful
financial aid opportunities,
scholarship programs,
service learning programs, and investments in field development. Through it all, we focus on building well-rounded players, lasting friendships, and a stronger community through our
Club’s values
and a shared love of soccer.
Kindergarten
MSI Kindergarten Kickstart is a fun, low-pressure introduction to soccer for 5–6 year olds, built around more touches, more goals, and more smiles. Choose weekend Gamedays, weekday Training sessions focused on skill-building, or both for the full experience!
Recreation
The MSI Recreation program is the foundation of our youth players’ soccer journey. We strive to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where players can learn and enjoy the game together.
Classic
The MSI Classic League is a unique program that bridges the gap between playing for the love of the game at the Recreation level and the elite competition and commitment of a travel program.
Travel
The MSI travel program allows our most dedicated and skilled U8 through U19 players to display their talents and continue their soccer careers continue their soccer careers beyond the Rec and Classic levels, including in college and pro-levels.

Mini Greens & Kindergarten
A fun and engaging introduction to soccer for young players. Focused on building basic motor skills, fostering a love for the game, and promoting teamwork through playful activities and small-sided games. Perfect for early learners who are new to organized sports.
Recreational & Travel Start
A developmental stage that balances skill-building with enjoyment. Players enhance foundational soccer techniques like dribbling, passing, and shooting while gaining experience in a team setting. Recreation league provide a fun, supportive environment, while Travel program introduce competitive play for those seeking advanced challenges.
Development & Competitive Play
Players refine their skills and learn tactical aspects of the game. This stage offers Recreation, Classic, and Travel levels, allowing athletes to match their abilities and goals. Emphasis is on teamwork, strategic thinking, and preparing for higher levels of competition.
Advanced Training & Tactical Growth
This is a critical stage for skill mastery and tactical awareness. Players in Recreation, Classic, programs focus on game intelligence, physical fitness, and positional play. Travel teams compete in challenging leagues, fostering a competitive mindset and preparing for high school-level play.
Elite Performance & College Prep
Tailored for players aiming for excellence, this level hones advanced skills, competitive resilience, and leadership. If your player is looking to enjoy the game of soccer while playing with their friends and neighbors while in high school, then we offer Recreation and Classic. On the other hand, we offer the Travel program for competitive play, so they feel prepared for the next level, if they choose to continue to play after high school.
MSI First Teams
Designed for adult enthusiasts and aspiring professionals. Whether for recreation, competitive leagues, or pursuing a pro pathway, this stage keeps the love for soccer alive while supporting advanced development and high-level competition.
