Kick-Off Classic

Dates: August 30, 2025-August 31, 2025

The Kick-Off Classic will be held Labor Day Weekend, providing MSI Classic and Rec teams with a terrific opportunity to tune up for the fall season. The event will be ‘festival’ format – all teams will get three games over the weekend with no scores or standings kept, reflecting the emphasis on a pre-season, friendly festival for development and fun. Games will be played on turf fields in Montgomery County.

PARTICIPANTS

The Kick-Off Classic is for registered MSI Classic and Rec teams. Guest players are allowed, up to a maximum of half your roster size. These guest players must be registered with MSI or be able to show proof of registration with MSYSA or a US Youth Soccer-affiliated club. Tryout players are allowed and do not need to carded players (since they are only at the tryout stage).

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Guaranteed 3 games, ‘Festival-Style’ – no results and standings, no finals. All games will have 30-minute halves, 5 minutes half time. Please be prompt at vacating the field and allowing the next game to start on time. 

  • U9-U10 (3rd-4th Grade): 7v7
  • U11-U12 (5th-6th Grade): 9v9
  • U13 (7th Grade) and above: 11v11

TOURNAMENT FEES

  • U9-U10:  $299 per team
  • U11-U12: $330 per team
  • U13 and above:  $395 per team

The price is per team, paying by check. Add an additional 3.65% for credit card transaction fees or 1.9% for bank transfer fees.


Refund Policy: If the festival must be canceled in its entirety, full refunds will be provided. If teams play at least one game, no refunds will be provided (recognizing that there are many fixed costs associated with the event).
