Men's First Team
MSI formed a new men’s soccer team that began competing in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), Division 1, in the fall of 2023. Demonstrating exceptional performance, the team won their division and advanced to the regional finals in their inaugural season. Buoyed by this success, the team was promoted to the Premier Division of the DMV North for the spring 2024 season. MSI won their division in Fall of 2024.
The MSI Men’s Semi-Pro team now competes in the Premier Division of the DMV North Conference in the UPSL, which is part of the fourth tier of the US Soccer pyramid, just below the three professional tiers. The UPSL features nearly 400 clubs nationwide, providing a structured pathway bridging the gap between youth and professional soccer.
Advanced Player Development Program
Our team competes in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). Founded in 2011, the UPSL offers a high-level soccer experience for players transitioning from youth soccer. As a semi-professional league, it is recognized as the unofficial 4th tier of the U.S. Soccer League system. Our program is dedicated to helping all players achieve their full potential.
Giving Back to the Community
The MSI UPSL team is committed to making a positive impact both on and off the field. A total of 22 players and staff members from our team actively contribute to the community by working within other MSI programs. Whether coaching youth teams, assisting with training sessions, or volunteering at club events, our players and staff are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of athletes. This commitment
to service strengthens the bond between our team and the local soccer community while reinforcing the values of leadership, mentorship, and teamwork.
Pathway to Success and Recent Achivements
The MSI UPSL program is designed to provide players with opportunities to advance their soccer careers. Whether pursuing collegiate, professional, or international pathways, our program offers the exposure and development needed to succeed.
- College Success: One of our players has continued their soccer journey at Montgomery College, a recognized program that bridges the gap between youth and higher-level competition.
- Professional Opportunities: Another player recently signed with the Baltimore Blast, a professional indoor soccer team, showcasing the diverse opportunities available to our players.
- International Trials: A current player is on trials in Spain, aiming to secure a place in a European academy, reflecting our commitment to opening doors at the global level.
- In the Fall 2024 season, MSI team achieved notable success by winning the DMV North League title, demonstrating our ability to compete at a high level. Additionally, this same season, the team played in their first ever Open Cup, and plan to continue to do so going forward.
- Our focus remains on preparing players for whatever path they choose, helping them realize their dreams in soccer.
